You’re here! Welcome. I’m making some assumptions about that (even knowing the dangers of ass-u-me).
You’re looking for more information;
You’ve searched a few places and are a tourist stopping in (please, come in. Stay awhile);
There’s so much information out there you aren’t sure what to think anymore (and your frustration level is about ready to cause you to implode).
You’ve read craft books, but still feel like you need more support.
Maybe you’re a seasoned writer feeling the frustration of a story that just won’t come together. Maybe you’re a brand new writer who’s got an awesome idea but unsure about how to get started. Maybe you’re a writer who’s gotten started but aren’t sure how to sustain the process through to “The End.”
Here’s a bit about me (which I know you can read in the “About Me”):
I got my undergraduate degree in English Literature. Okay, maybe that means nothing.
I taught English Language, Writing and Story Analysis for 23 years in High School.
I’ve been writing most of my life.
I’ve published 5 novels (and am working on my 6th and 7th which will publish Fall 2021) which have gotten some pretty great reviews (and some bad ones. But hey, you can’t please everyone).
I’ve made a bunch of mistakes, but that also means I’ve had a chance to reflect about those and find a better path.
I’d like to help.
Here’s what you can expect over the next several months:
I’m going to break down my Writing Process Step-by-Step (like a teacher rather than a writer) and if they’re applicable, I’ll offer you an exercise or two to help you.
Learning YOUR Writing Process is important, and though there’s A Writing Process, you’re looking for YOURS. ;) Maybe this will help.
And let’s use it like a discussion. Be sure to drop in your comments or contact me with questions if you’ve got them.
Well, let me get you a cup of coffee (oops. I made an assumption. Tea?) and hang out with me for a bit.
