Course Announcement: Putting the Story Together

CL Walters is teaching a course called Putting the Story Together in collaboration with Indie It Press. The Course is an 8-part course taught this year.

A beautiful story is the perfectly performed dance between elements of literature and language. To choreograph that dance, a writer needs to understand the foundational pieces of a story to twist them into something unique and interesting.

This course will support any writer at any stage of their writing journey with a deep dive into the foundational elements of story. Supporting the beginning writer to the advanced by exploring the five elements of literature (character, conflict, setting, theme, etc.) through the writer’s lens, to understanding the plot curve and its relationship to the mythic structure, to the way long-form fiction relies on the three-act structure as a framework to challenge it. This course examines how each foundational piece of story structure developed and framed well, will take your work from good to excellent, strengthening your skills in every facet of the story creation.
